I stood waiting for the sun to set. As it did my fingers froze and the sunset was not outstanding. A few images salvaged. Ironically, the yellow of the sun reminds me of the fire that waited for me at home.
The sun is bright and harsh here. The middle of Winter, it casts long, dark shadows across every subject. I decided to work with it. Its intensity is great for backlighting flowers and the daffodils have been confused into thinking its Spring by a burst of warm weather.
Recently I have been outside enjoying the last days of Summer where I live in South Australia. I have been noticably absent, but I can’t appologise for it. I decided to tear myself away and come inside long enough to share with you one of the incredible sunsets that have been keeping me away from I AM.
I thought I would post the final air photo I took. It was taken Wednesday, but I haven’t got to it until now so although it is technically fire week I am still posting it.
I tried to think of an interesting silhouette that you don’t see everyday. As I looked up at my family reroofing our pergola I decided that the structure and the sun would make an interesting shot. I like it. I hope other people do too.
My husband is a teacher. This weekend he had to write school reports which is always very hard for him with two little people that want his attention more often than not. So I took them away to Waikerie in the Riverland. I couldn’t take many photos because my iPhone was going flat and I had forgot my charger, but today I knew I was coming home and only needed enough charge for an emergency call in case of disaster so I took a few before I left. I really noticed that some sort of zoom lense would have been useful, but I never get sick of the back of my son’s head and you don’t need to zoom on that, heheh.
I also put in another photo of W sitting. I had a closer look and I loved it.
I had another of W in the sitting pose. I love this photo for his smile.
We found a daffodil at Grandma’s house in the garden.
E had to have a closer look
W sitting at the river front at Waikerie watching the ferry.
This has been a recent phenomenon for the last couple of weeks.
If you put W on the grass he WILL find a leaf
I love the feeling of reflection in this photo. Can babies meditate?
I have included this photo which I thought was interesting mainly because the iPhone took it all on its own.
Ignoring the filthy glass, the cloud formations were amazing on the trip home.
Again, ignore the dirty window glass, the sky was so beautiful. This doesn’t really capture it, but it was too good not to point and shoot and hope for the best.
I took the boys to the playground on the way home today. It was a consolation really, we had been going to meet people and we had a car disaster so it was the playground on the way home or nothing. They didn’t mind too much. I, of course, whipped out old trusty and started taking photos…
It’s hard to get a good shot when you can hardly see the screen.
I’m pretty sure there would be a fairly strict composition rule about not having a great big whopping line through someone’s head. oh well?!
Here is something I can’t live without…literally. Neither can you. On a more indulgent level I love to take a chair and sit with the sun on my back on days when it’s not very warm. Toasty. It makes me happy.
