Birds, Birds, Birds (Part 2)

I said that I had taken quite a lot of bird photos recently and then I got sidetracked and never got to posting the second part. So here they are.

duck b&w
This duck paid me no attention despite being right in front of me.
duck bottom up
I love this photo.I took quite a few to get the one I wanted, but I really like the clear space between his foot at the water. It seems to make it look like he is more enthusiastic about his task…which he was!
duck front
Don’t look now, but there is a duck staring right at me.
karate duck

Travel Theme: Animals

All of these animal photos appeal to me because of the textures I see.

Hiss. Not sure what else to say except he is LOOKING AT ME!!!

A few of my other favourite animal photos. Sorry for any of you who have seen them before, The first is the image I use for the header of my page. Its a pelican (my favourite bird).

The second was the opening shot I did for my September Macro Month/Post a day Challenge. I found this little guy in my garden. Caterpillars aren’t generally welcome, but this photo got this one a stay of execution. Lucky him.

Portrait of a Pelican

I wanted to share a few of my personal favourite photos. I have mentioned before that I love Pelicans and I had an opportunity to photograph one at close proximity. I love the sense of intimacy I feel in these photos. I realise the first one is a bit abstract, but it is one of my favourites of all the photos I have taken. I would have liked the second image to be fractionally lower to include all of the bill, but it just didn’t work out.
